Art in Evolution: Building the SWARMS Ecosystem
As Lead Artist and Creative Director at Ghost, I directed the creation of SWARMS, a sold-out collection of 10,000 artworks launched on the Avalanche network. Built from thousands of hand-drawn elements, the project pioneered the concept of evolutive art in Web3, where collectors could upgrade and transform their pieces over time.
The ecosystem expanded beyond the digital drop into AR experiences, murals, physical prints, and collaborations, turning SWARMS into a living, breathing system of art. Over 30 quests were completed by the community, 70+ physical works were shipped to collectors, and high-profile showcases included Google Austin and the Avalanche Summit in Buenos Aires.
SWARMS positioned itself as both an artistic experiment and a cultural movement, merging fine art, technology, and community into one of Web3’s early milestones.
UI & UX experience
The online platform is a multi-layered interactive UI that allows collectors to explore each artwork in intricate detail. More than 80,000 files are organized into a fluid system that showcases every aspect of the pieces. At its core, the goal was to create the first community-driven, gamified art collecting experience.
Key features include automated animation across 10,000 individual artwork pages, social-media-optimized downloads for each piece, dynamic views of evolutions, genetic profiles, and questing mechanics.

The art
Each piece is built from six algorithmically selected traits drawn from the collection’s 900+ hand-drawn parts. The result is a wide variety of textures, colors, and shapes that create a uniquely rich viewing experience.
Every artwork also carries its own tattoo combination. By decoding their hidden symbolism, collectors can unlock and claim physical art pieces through both community and individual quests.

AR artworks
Following the release of the initial collection, a follow-up series of augmented reality prints was launched. These works merge oil painting, digital drawing, and seamless AR animation, presented as museum-grade physical prints. Each piece offers an interactive window into the world of SWARMS.
In 2024, two exclusive AR print drops with the art-collecting platform Remx were released, along with large-scale acrylic 1/1 collector exclusives.

Collaborations & 1/1 artworks
More than 50 collaborations and one-of-one pieces have been sold at high fetching auctions and to private collectors since the release of the initial SWARMS collection. Each collaboration expands the lore and deepens the original narrative behind the artworks.
